Our 2023 NAACI Conference was held in Querétaro, Mexico, hosted by Big Thinkers. It was held at the City Museum, a building from colonial times in the historical downtown area.
At a time when violence seems so commonplace as to be almost part of the background, thinking of peace becomes more than just urgent, it becomes necessary. Education for peace brought us together to discuss approaches and perspectives on how to move forward and help children believe in a better world.
We talked about educating in ethics, learning to speak with those whose opinion lies on the other side of the aisle, inclusion, and sharing stories together, we shared our experiences and ideas and found voices both in agreement and otherwise, but always moving towards a common goal.
Peace is both an ideal and a way of life, and as we build it with others, we live it ourselves.
